# Inbox and drafts

> Answer replies in one place, and check and send the drafts waiting for you.

**Inbox** gathers the replies to your outreach so you can answer them without leaving Pulse, one conversation per contact. **Drafts** holds messages that are written and waiting for you to check them, such as the ones Prism suggests. Drafts of campaign messages stay on their campaign page. The numbers next to each in the sidebar show what needs you.

## Before you start

Replies reach your inbox through your Gmail, and drafts are sent from it. [Connect Gmail](/get-started/profile#connect-gmail) under **Account settings**, and turn on **Enable reply detection**.

## Reply to a message

</Frame>

Use **All**, **Awaiting**, **Replied** and **Sent** to filter the list. **Awaiting** holds conversations where your contact has not replied yet. If your workspace translates outgoing messages, a reply needs a current translation before it can be sent, and the language picker below the reply box sets the language.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the conversation">
    Select **Inbox**, then select a conversation on the left.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Write your reply">
    Type in the reply box at the bottom.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send">
    Select **Send**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Your reply now shows in the conversation. Next, [read a message in your own language](#read-a-message-in-your-own-language).

## Read a message in your own language

If your workspace translates outgoing messages and a contact has an [Email language](/products/pulse/contacts-and-accounts#choose-the-language-you-write-to-a-contact-in) different from your own content language, Pulse translates their messages into your language when you open the conversation.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the conversation">
    Select **Inbox**, then select the conversation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Translate a message if it is not already">
    If a message still shows **Translate**, select it.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The message now shows in your language. Your content language is set in your [profile](/get-started/profile#update-your-details). Next, [check the drafts waiting for you](#approve-a-draft).

## Approve a draft

**My drafts** lists your own drafts. **Assigned to me** appears when someone passes a draft to you, and Tenant Owners and Workspace Admins also see **All team drafts**. If your workspace translates outgoing messages, [translate the draft](#send-a-message-in-another-language) before you send it.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the draft">
    Select **Drafts**, then select a draft on the left.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check it">
    Read the message.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Edit it if needed">
    If you need to, edit it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save your changes">
    To keep your changes without sending, select **Save**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Drop a draft you do not want">
    If you do not want the draft, select **Discard**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send it">
    Select **Send**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The draft leaves the list, and a sent draft shows in **Inbox**. Next, [see where your contacts stand](/products/pulse/pipeline-and-deals).

<Tip>Press Ctrl and Enter, or Cmd and Enter on a Mac, to send a draft from the keyboard.</Tip>

## Send a message in another language

If your workspace translates outgoing messages, you write in English and Pulse sends the message in another language. Pulse only sends a message once it has a translation of exactly what you wrote.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the draft">
    Select **Drafts**, then select the draft.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the language">
    Below the message, use the language picker if the draft should go out in a different language from the one shown.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Translate it">
    Select **Translate preview**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the translation">
    Read the translation before you send it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send it">
    Select **Send**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Pulse sends the translated message. Next, [see where your contacts stand](/products/pulse/pipeline-and-deals).

## Troubleshooting

**If sending shows "Gmail authorization expired or missing",** [connect Gmail](/get-started/profile#connect-gmail) again, then send again.

**If a draft says "A current translation is required before sending",** select **Translate preview**, read the translation, then send again.

**If Pulse says "The text or language changed. Translate again before sending",** you changed the message or its language after translating it. Select **Translate preview** again, then send again.
